10 Home Remedies for Snoring

Snoring at night can be very annoying and disturbing, especially when you sleep along a snoring type. It is clear that snoring releases abnormal noise into the environment when such person sleeps.

This is experienced when turbulent airflows that cause the tissues of the throat and nose to vibrate as we sleep. When this noise is heard, airflow is narrowed at a particular area either in the nose, mouth or throat.

1. Garlic

Inflammation and mucus Build-up in the nasal cavity and lungs have been reported as the cause of snoring. Garlic is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant which are capable of destroying factors enhancing snoring and respiratory problems. Many choose to chew raw garlic while some people use garlic as food ingredients. However,consuming it regularly helps eliminate mucus build-ups in the nose, lungs and sinus.

2. Nestle tea

Taking nestle tea 2 to 3 times a day has been noted for treatment of snoring. Nestle tea contains natural compounds that are believed to be potent at warding off toxins and free radicals responsible for respiratory issues. Some research has depicted that seasonal allergy can foster snoring in both men and female. Put a tablespoon of dried nestle leaves in a boiled water, and allow to steep for about seven minutes and then consume the nestle tea while going to bed.

3. Peppermint

Peppermint has been used for thousands of years to relieve mucus and plaques in the nostrils and throat. Thanks to the presence of anti-inflammatory property found in peppermint. This helps ease the process of breathing and soothes the respiratory performance. Making unnecessary noise while sleeping may be as a result of cold, dry air, or allergies. To combat snoring, add two drops of peppermint oil in a cup of water and gargle with the solution.

4. Steam

Snoring has been associated with nasal congestion, and steam is very valuable in treating snorting. Traditionally, inhaling steam is a common practice at home to relieve nasal congestion. Some region of the world, mix essential oil such as tea tree oil with a boiling water to cure snorting. Ensue you inhale for 8 to 10 minutes daily until you get desired result.

5. Honey

Honey possess anti-inflammatory properties, this helps get rid of inflammation in the throat and nose for ease flow of air in and out of the body, thus minimizing abnormal noise during sleep. Intake of honey help lubricates and relieve pain linked to inflammation. You can add one or tablespoon of honey to hot water before going to bed.

6. Chamomile

To benefit from chamomile, add a few flowers of chamomile to a boiling water and allow to heat for 12 to 16 minutes. Separate the flowers from the liquid, add a teaspoon of honey to it. Take the warm tea before sleeping. Chamomile is said to contain anti-inflammatory property that relieve the tense muscles and nerves within the nose and throat.

7. Olive Oil

To combat snoring take 3 sips of olive oil daily without adding any other thing to it. The high concentration of bioactive compounds in olive oil helps clear plaques in the airways. Obstruction and inflammation in the throat and airway, snoring.

8. Cardamom

One of the medicinal benefits of cardamom is it ability at clearing up blocked nasal cavity and throat. This is associated with the natural compounds seen in cardamom. Cardamom helps break and open up nasal passage, which promotes smooth airways passages. Cardamom can be used in different ways, including adding a few cardamoms to a cup of water, and drink at bed time.

9. Turmeric

Overweight has been observed as one of the causes of heavy snoring. Weight reduction is advised in order to prevent and reduce snoring.
